Character (Original Universe)
Name: Cloud Strife
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Canon: Final Fantasy 7
Canon Point: Pre-Nibelheim Incident/Crisis Core
History: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Cloud_Strife
Personality: Cloud is a young man who is very disturbed by the events of Nibelheim and the experimentation that was performed on him afterwards. He is severely in need of professional help, even after he resolves his issues in the Life Stream. This isn’t the Cloud we’re discussing here.
Growing up in Nibelheim, Cloud had decided early on that the town was too small for him. He had a bad attitude and got into frequent fights and arguments with the other kids. Even though he was being a little shit, he justified it to himself by declaring that the other kids were jealous of him, that he was smarter and better than them and he’d prove it one day.
That chance came and went the day that Tifa’s mother died. She decided she was going to see what was beyond the mountain and see if her mother was there. Her friends followed her up but fell back one by one. Cloud, the straggler, was the only one to follow her all the way. When a bridge collapsed, he was there to save her, but she still ended up in a coma for a week. The adults in Nibelheim assumed it was his fault and blamed him.
His growing anger and resentment over this was what finally lead him to call Tifa out one night and say he was leaving to join SOLDIER. It was an impetuous and rebellious act, entirely founded in the desire to prove himself. To prove that he was more than just a stupid country boy. To prove that he was better than anyone in his hometown. To prove that he was worth Tifa.
Joining the military quickly slapped him with a face full of reality. He did not make the cut for SOLDIER, and even while he did well as a trooper, he still had the failure of his dreem hanging over him. Thus, as a trooper he believed in fulfilling his orders to the letter, as well as protecting his comrades, doing his best to prove himself worthy of promotion. The problem was that he was working so hard to do well that he lacked the courage to fail. Failure would only confirm that he wasn't worthy of becoming SOLDIER. His depression over this was halted however when he met Zack. Two bonded and their friendship gave Cloud new hope at reaching his dream. It may not be happening as fast as he wanted, but with Zack supporting him, maybe he’d have a chance.
Spending time with Zack, Cloud is actually a cheerful young man. Having made a firm friend, he finds it easier to joke around, even at his own expense. Country boy jokes abound. He’s eager to prove himself, to the point where he makes mistakes and even gets his ass handed to him by a scientist older than him. Even with Zack’s support, he still idolizes the other SOLDIER first class members, including Sephiroth, and the stories about Angeal and Genesis. Zack is just the only one who will give him the time of day.
He still holds some shame over the fact that he didn’t make the cut for SOLDIER as he once boasted. He doesn’t write many letters home, and when he does return to Nibelheim he hides behind his helmet to make sure Tifa doesn’t know it’s him. Becoming confident in himself is something that is possible for him, but it will take time and effort to accept his failures and find where he really shines.

Zack,
I’m stuck in the Mythril Mines. I was doing some exploring and the weighted doors slammed shut behind me. I’m not sure how to get out from here and the monsters further in are too much for me to handle. Please send help or supplies.
Don’t tell anyone I sent this.
Cloud
Crystallis
Moogle Name: Mako
Moogle Gender: Male
First Job: Black Mage
Second Job:
Limit Break: Meteorain - Using whatever weapon he is using, Cloud calls down a rain of six small meteors to deal damage to a group. The meteors hit targets at random for 1.5 damage each. There is always a chance that a target in a group won’t get hit by any, but they will all hit if there’s only one target.
